New report shines a light on how Antonio Pierce became the Las Vegas Raiders head coach
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Looking back now, it seems like Antonio Pierce was always going to be the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders when the team was deciding earlier this offseason. He fits the position well and could do some great things in 2024 and beyond.

However, how he became the interim head coach is now looked at differently after a recent report. This report kind of shows that Pierce has integrity for the game.

According to Chris Karpman, Arizona State University must vacate all eight of its 2021 football wins and two 2022 wins due to the participation of impermissibly recruited players. Antonio Pierce was a coach at Arizona State when this happened, as he was a defensive coordinator, but resigned when it happened two years ago.

In a way, we could be looking at this situation saying that if Pierce and the Sundevils hadn't gotten into the issue they were in, he could have had a chance at becoming a head coach there or getting a great position at another school.

Instead, he became a linebackers coach for the Raiders. Now, he's the head coach; It really changes your perspective on taking changes and having integrity for the game.
