Timberwolves get brutal update on head coach's injury

The Minnesota Timberwolves won their first playoff series in 20 years Sunday as they swept the Suns. But the Anthony Edwards-led squad had to celebrate the momentous win without their head coach, Chris Finch

With 1:41 left in the fourth quarter, Finch was forced to leave the game after he collided with his team's point guard, Mike Conley, on the sidelines.

"That does not look good at all," Grant Hill said on the TNT broadcast as Finch walked gingerly to the locker room with the help of his staff.

After the game, The Athletic's Shams Charania provided an update on Finch's injury.

The Timberwolves might have to wait at least a week to face either the Nuggets or the Lakers in the second round of the postseason. It's unknown if Finch would be able to coach his team from the sidelines while dealing with the injury that could require him to go under the knife.

Assistant coach Micah Nori, who took charge of the team in Finch's absence on Sunday, is expected to be called upon again if Finch can't take the floor.
