Maycee Barber scored a big win over Amanda Ribas.

Barber vs. Ribas served as the co-main event of UFC Jacksonville. The two did battle inside the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday (June 24).

This one was action-packed, with both fighters bloodying each other. In the end, it was Barber who finished the fight, dropping her opponent and finishing her off with ground-and-pound.

Barber is riding a five-fight winning streak. She hasn't lost a bout since early 2021. That defeat was against the current UFC Women's Flyweight Champion Alexa Grasso. Barber has said she wants that rematch regardless of whether or not the title is on the line.

Now that she has a win over Ribas, Barber is likely to enter the top 10 UFC women's flyweight rankings. She entered this fight as the 11th-ranked 125-pounder, while Ribas held the number nine spot.

What's next for Barber should be interesting. Whether the UFC will catapult her to face a top five name or takes the slow approach remains to be seen.

As for Ribas, her up and down stretch as of late continues. She has gone 2-3 in her last five bouts. At one point, Ribas won five bouts in a row before running into Marina Rodriguez in early 2021.
